What is the AGEC Law*?
Promulgated on February 10, 2020, the AGEC law aims to transform the linear “produce-consume-dispose” model into a more sustainable circular economy.
It is built around 5 main axes:
• Get out of disposable plastic
• Better inform consumers
• Fight against waste and promote solidarity reuse
• Act against planned obsolescence
• Produce better
* Anti-Waste and Circular Economy
The law aims to stop the marketing of single-use plastic packaging by 2040, with interim targets set by decree.
Its principles also apply to plastic packaging in fashion:
Delivery pouches
Bags
Plastic hangers
Dry cleaning covers…
